Beaches in Algarve

Algarve is also famous for its diverse, continuous beaches, varying from sunbathing

To windsurfing, cold or warmer waters, family beaches with all amenities, to

the unexplored beaches, for those who prefer nature’s unspoilt beauty.

In the western areas its beaches are surrounded by steep rock cliffs with spectacular

panoramic views from the cliffs, and many housing caverns and caves. most of the

beaches are more towards the wind/surfing side due to the westerly winds, although

there are some that are protected thru natural barriers providing excellent swimming

and sunbathing. Algarve’s southern side is on the softer side, soft golden sand beaches

excellent sunbathing and swimming. Either framed by red dirt cliffs, compensated by

pine trees, or back dropped by sand dunes.

Snorkeling and Scuba diving are enjoyed thru out the coast and fishing is also possible.

Blue flag. flag of quality, distinguishing the effort by several entities to improve

the enviroment, safety and information to beachgoers.
